In a previous course in my Brand Design module at HU University, we created a brand identity and compiled a brand book according to it. In this course we swapped those brand books with other students and were instructed to make a campaign with it. I got the brand Momento which is a store where people can get their loved ones ashes incorporated into a piece of art. It could be an unique urn or a beautiful jewelery piece for example. The brand has a calm and serene feeling and doesn’t want death to be terrible thing –instead they wish to celebrate the deceased person and capture their aura in a piece of art.
Sketches
I wanted to show the connection between the deceased person and the one in the living world. I thought this could be best shown by hands holding the urns and jewellery from Momento. The shadows represent the one who is passed away and the hand holding the piece of art is the person left with the memory of their loved one.
Photography examples
Together with the creators of Momento we booked the photography room and brought a decorative items to model with. We set up the backdrop and lights and started taking photos based on the sketches I had made. It was a fun collaborative process and I was very happy with the photos that came out. Later I made 3 posters, a brochure and an Instagram reel using Indesign.
